Lore (fucking minimum 10 characters shit) Empty
PostSubject: Lore (fucking minimum 10 characters shit)   Lore (fucking minimum 10 characters shit) Icon_minitimeWed Dec 03, 2014 4:08 am

So I decided that I would start the game again when my computer was broken and I was bored. So what does everyone do when they are bored and don't have anything to do? They write lore for an online text-based rpg that's what. Anyway some info about it:

This is for the lore of the 'New' game.
Please ignore grammar mistakes since I'm bad at things.
Also I should be updating this at least every two weeks.
If there are any inconsistencies please let me know.
Other than telling me about inconsistencies please don't post in this thread.

Anyway here is the first one:

In the beginning there was only one, he was known as Soul. This being floated around the empty void that was existence, until it decided it was lonely. At first, Soul didn’t know how to combat this feeling, though with time eventually he came to the conclusion that in order for him to remove this feeling he would have to dissipate into other forms of being. This was how the fourteen Gods came to be, the fourteen of the purest elements of Soul. These gods were known as the Col’thin. The Col’thin lived peacefully as essence for a brief time until they exhibited a unique trait which consumed them, and morphed them into a shape appropriate to house this trait. This shape was of their father, Soul, whose form was mostly humanoid.

The first of these was Charity, who only helped the other Col’thin, emerged first becoming the goddess of self-sacrifice. Soon afterwards was Envy who, having seen Charity emerge and wanting to have been the first, became the god of jealousy. Much time passed before another emerged. In order after envy they were; Pride, Lust, Patience, Chastity, Temperance, Greed, Wrath, Diligence, Gluttony, Kindness, Humility, and finally Sloth.

For a time, the Col’thin had little understanding of their power. This continued until Pride created the first of the living, his son Tion. Tion was such an interesting specimen to the Col’thin, he was unlike anything they had experience before in their brief time in existence.  Shortly after his creation was born; Pride, feeling generous, created a companion with the help of the other gods. For Tion’s companion the gods combined their power to create the perfect mate for their new friend. The woman named Ithill. Mother of all life of the future, for the gods weaved much of their creative genius into her genes, in order to diversify the resulting children she and Tion had. These children were the first of the races, the founders so to speak, for they paired with their siblings of similar appearance and mated again to reproduce similar offspring. The only three that were able to develop themselves were the Israfel, the Aenoch, and the Humans. The Israfel exhibited traits similar to the ‘virtuous’ gods. They were the smallest in number also closely resembled Tion and the gods. They were mostly fair skinned and were somewhat divine in their appearance. The Aenoch were the opposite, they were prone to the traits of the ‘sinful’ gods. Their skin was predominantly red, but some exhibited similar appearance to the Israfel. Demonic protrusions often came with some, from horns to tails to frills. The Aenoch were often treated with disrespect even though they numbered closely to the humans. The humans were the most often in turmoil, due to their exhibition of most of the gods traits.

Tion's first son, Acin, was an exceptional being. Acin was favored by the gods more than Tion. This made Tion jealous of his son. A jealousy that would eventually consume him as it did the god of the same name. Tions jealousy would eventually become so overwhelming that he acted without thought and slew his son in his sleep. For the murder of his son, Tion was punished. He was ordered to travel the earth until he had broken the sword Carulibex, a double-edged long sword with a rectangular blade without a tip and an orb on the pommel. The core of which was created similarly to Ithill’s, in order to make the blade hyper-durable. Tion tried tirelessly to break the mythical blade, but to no avail. He soon accepted his fate to wander the earth forever.  Between the time of Tions creation and Ithills, the gods experimented with their powers creating the various organisms that reside in the planes.

The fragments of Soul scattered to all ends of existence, creating the planer verse, which held the three planes. The planes are known as; Ochilon, the Outer plane, where the gods reside; Aemir, the mortal plane, which holds the living; Anifirus, the inner plane, which is inside the mortal plane. Between the time of Tion's creation and Ithill's, the gods experimented with their powers creating the various organisms that reside in the planes.

Soon enough the ‘founders’ had aged and died, and the next generation grew to adulthood. Some of these saw Tion’s weapon and were mistaken as to its purpose. They saw it as a gift and they were enraged at the gods for not blessing them with something as powerful. Creating the first conflict, soon the races chose sides and a great war was brewing. Ithill knew the plight of her partner and in order to stop a world ending conflict she sacrificed herself and returned her power to the gods. Bewildered at the decision of their second born, the gods agreed to an uneasy alliance one where they would not fight as a group, there would be no large scale battle of the gods for now.

As the generations passed and cities were built, the first millennia approached, the gods decided to grant some of the living the power of gods. So they planned a game for the inhabitants of Aemir, a series of many challenges as to determine the best in each aspect. Each god created two games to and the winner of their games became an apostle of theirs. This title of apostle would grant the recipient a fraction of the power of their patron and immortality. Along with the creation of the apostles, another rule was put into place; the gods could not intervene in the mortal plane unless through one of their apostles. After hearing the reward, people flocked from all inhabited parts of the world to participate in the games.

After almost one millennia of traversing the mortal plane, Tion was quite skilled in most aspects, so he decided to join the competition. Before the games began, Pride told Tion that due to his millennia of punishment, he would allow Tion to attend the games but that he would not be granted the title of apostle. Tion, sensing pity from his father, asked him if instead that he could be a rank of different importance, one that spoke to the men and the gods. After a brief time of consulting the other Col’thin, Tion was allowed that honor, if he was exactly 2nd place in both of Pride’s games. During the games, Tion was forbidden from using his cursed sword, due to its durability.

The gods had decided that the games Tion had entered would be first, to see if their decision was appropriate. The first of which was a five part duel with each round consisting of teams fighting against one another until only two remain. Tion easily cleared the event to the last round, where he gave his opponent a great duel, but eventually lost on purpose. The first apostle of Pride was given the name Ego, due to his pride of winning against Tion. The next challenge Tion faced was a combat tournament where each combatant was given random pieces of armor or weapons at the start of each round. Tion breezed through this challenge as well, due to his experience. Tion’s opponent immediately dropped his gear and challenged Tion to a fist fight during the final round, thus earning the name of Honor when he was anointed apostle. Having completed his trial, Tion was also awarded a title, that of Herald. The title gave him power but not enough to lift him from his curse, though from then on he would be allowed to converse with the gods.

Most of the games weren’t as weighted as the first two, though one in particular stood out. One of Wrath’s choices was a free for all fight to the death, consisting of all the participants who entered at once. The surviving person would be given the title of apostle of Wrath. The fighting was bloody and brutal, but one man among the rest proved to be more fierce, more vicious, more merciless than the rest, the way he fought pleased Wrath so much that he aborted the plan for his second game and only took on one apostle, whose name was Savage.

The games progressed smoothly and the rest of the apostles were appointed appropriately. These apostles and their gods are as follows: Mercy and Amity of Charity, Spite and Prejudice of Envy, Desire and Passion of Lust, Tolerance and Restraint of Patience, Abstinence and Purity of Chastity, Constraint and Control of Temperance, Avarice and Covet of Greed, Vigor and Exertion of Diligence, Voracity and Hunger of Gluttony, Affection and Grace of Kindness, Timidity and Resignation of Humility, and finally Lethargy and Slack of Sloth. These apostles held great power and authority but only when their patron commanded them to. These apostles each had two champions; these were chosen by the apostles and were given a powerful item for their use. These champions were free to do as they wished on the mortal plane, unless their lord told them otherwise.

Tion was such an interesting specimen to the Col’thin, and was unlike anything they had experienced before in their brief time in existence. Shortly after his creation was born, Pride decided to create him a companion with the help of the other gods. For Tion’s companion, the gods combined their power to fashion the perfect mate for their new friend; a woman named Ithill, who became the mother of all life, for the gods weaved much of their creative genius into her genes in order to diversify the resulting offspring she and Tion had. Their children were the first of the races, the founders so to speak, and they paired with their siblings of similar appearance and mated again to reproduce similar offspring. The three races that developed from this were the Israfel, the Aenoch, and the Humans. The Israfel exhibited traits similar to the ‘virtuous’ gods. They were the smallest in number and closely resembled Tion and the gods. The telltale signs of their race are their mostly fair skin and their distinctly 'divine' aura. The Aenoch are the opposite, as they are prone to the influences of the ‘sinful’ gods. Their skin is a much more red-hue in comparison to the Israfel, but their aura still retains a similar resemblance to the Gods. Demonic protrusions often come with them, such as horns, tails, and other similar adornments. The Aenoch are often treated with disrespect even though their number is close to that of the humans. Speaking of, little is to be said of the human race, save for that they are often in conflict and war and are the most dissimilar to their creators.

Tion's first son, Acin, was an exceptional being. Acin was favored by the gods even more than Tion, bringing about a great jealousy in him. A jealousy that would eventually consume him as it did the God, for one night Tion's emotions overcame him, and he slew his son Acin in his sleep. For the murder of his son, Tion was sorely punished. He was ordered to travel the earth until he had broken the sword Carulibex, a double-edged long sword with a rectangular blade without a tip and an orb on the pommel. The core of which was created similarly to Ithill herself, in order to make the blade hyper-durable. Tion tried tirelessly to break the mythical blade, but to no avail. He soon accepted his fate to wander the earth forever.

Ithill knew the plight of her partner and, in order to stop the potentially world-ending conflict, she sacrificed herself and returned her power to the gods. Bewildered at the decision of their second born, the gods agreed to an uneasy alliance where they would not fight as a group, lest they risk another disaster. There would be no large scale battle of the gods for now.

As the generations passed and civilizations rose and fell, the gods found the millennia soon passing, and so decided to grant some of the mortal the power of gods. They decided on a game for the inhabitants of Aemir, a series of many challenges to determine the best in each of their criteria. Each god created two games, and the winner of each was to become an apostle of theirs. The title of apostle would grant the recipient a small piece of the power of their patron, and gift of immortality. With the creation of the apostles, a certain stipulation was made; the gods could no longer intervene in the mortal plane unless done through one of their apostles. After hearing of the opportunity to become like one of the gods, people flocked from all parts of the world to participate in the games.

After almost one millennia of traversing the mortal plane, Tion had become skilled in a great many fields, and so decided to join the competition. Before the games began, Pride told Tion that due to his millennia of punishment, he would allow Tion to attend the games, but that he would not be granted the title of apostle. Tion, sensing pity from his father, asked of him instead to give him a rank of importance, one that spoke to the men and the gods but that was not an apostle. After a brief time of consulting the other Col’thin, Tion was allowed his wish, so long as he was exactly 2nd place in both of Pride’s games. During the games, Tion was forbidden from using his cursed sword, due to its mythical nature.

The gods decided that the games Tion participated in would be first, to see if their decision had been well made. The first of these was a five part duel with each round consisting of teams fighting against one another until only two remain. Tion cleared the event to the last round with scarcely an issue, where he put on a fantastic duel. However, the conditions of the gods bound him, and he intentionally lost to his opponent. The champion. who became the first apostle of Pride, was given the name Ego, due to his satisfaction at winning against Tion.

The next challenge Tion faced was another combat tournament in which each combatant was given random pieces of armor or weapons at the start of each round. Tion again found no trouble in winning this tournament as well. In the final round, Tion’s opponent immediately dropped his gear and challenged Tion to an unarmed duel during the final round. Tion was to lose again, and his opponent was given the fitting name of Honor once he was made an apostle. Having successfully completed his trial, Tion was awarded his title; Herald, a designation that gave him considerable power, but not enough to lift him from his curse. From then on, Tion was once again allowed to converse with the gods.

Most of the games weren’t as preferential as the first two, though Wrath's in particular stood out. Wrath’s choice was a free for all fight to the death involving all of his participants at once, and the survivor would become his apostle. The fighting was bloody and brutal, but one man did prove to be more fierce, vicious, and merciless than the rest. This man became the one and only apostle of Wrath, and he was appropriately given the name Savage.

Most of the games progressed smoothly and the rest of the apostles were appointed appropriately. These apostles and their gods are as follows: Mercy and Amity of Charity; Spite and Prejudice of Envy; Desire and Passion of Lust; Tolerance and Restraint of Patience; Abstinence and Purity of Chastity; Constraint and Control of Temperance; Avarice and Covetous of Greed; Vigor and Exertion of Diligence; Voracity and Hunger of Gluttony; Affection and Grace of Kindness; Timidity and Resignation of Humility; and finally, Lethargy and Slack of Sloth. These apostles held great power and authority, but were only allowed to use it when commanded by their respective gods. These apostles themselves had each two champions. These champions were chosen by the apostles and were given powerful items, and were free to do as they wish on the mortal plane unless otherwise restricted by their masters.
