PostSubject: Osborne Side Game   Fri Oct 03, 2014 8:41 pm

5 thousand years before the current conflict was a time of innumerable wars. This campaign will be in one of them. The god war of Wrath and Pride.

You are all soldiers on the side of Pride. You may chose your weapons and names. Your armor has been provided to you and plate is the type.

Though not the first to arrive you are one of the early waves of soldiers, and can clearly see the battlefield littered with the bodies of friends and enemies alike. The warship that carries you and your fellow soldiers is a large one and you can clearly see the commander which gives you a sense of pride.(moral boost when near the commander)

As you approach the shore you commander begins barking out orders, which you eagerly follow. "Skirmishers will be on the front lines next to the pikemen and knights. Archers will be behind them giving limited support for now. I will be among those of you who have been chosen as the front line fighters of today's battle."

Other info: The "classes" that you can choose from are as follows: skirmisher, melee fighter swords or axes, may also have a shield; Pikeman, spear or pole-arm/axe users may also have a shield; or archer, bow users(you can chose longbow or warbow depending on where you want to be in the battle)

Yeshua, a prominent swordsman, raises his blade into the air with a shout of pride and excitement.  He has experienced several battles before, but none so large as this one.  He feels no fear, for he has excelled in all battles before this one, and his curved kiteshield has never failed him thus far.  With this shield, which is tall enough to protect most of his body, he feels confident in charging down even the sturdiest of pikemen or holding up a shield wall just the same.

Jake, a fierce, dual-wielding warrior, lets out a roar of excitement as he experiences the senses of battle- such a fierce and offensive warrior,in fact, that he wields two very offensive weapons in which he obtained from a special forge before the wars began (in his left, a hooked blade used for disarming enemies or hanging onto edges-- and in his right, a jagged blade specifically designed for maximum damage). A wave of overwhelming ferocity takes over his body as he makes his way onto the battlefield once again with the sole purpose of destroying his adversaries.

Yirimehu never had any issues with war... a sense of brotherhood and pride welled up with every arrow he drew back. His war bow flickered from the flames of battle... not knowing if his family was still alive, he grew extremely close to his comrades.

As the ship reaches landfall the soldiers disembark. Facing the first wave of defenders, a few of the enemy soldiers engage the front line skirmishers.

Yeshua eagerly leaps off of the ship, landing on the ground with a *thud* and charging straight into the soldiers, shield raised, sword protruding past the right side.

Jake fiercely jumps to Yeshua's side and fiercely charges with him, with his fierce sword in right hand raised in a fierce charging position and fiercely roars as he fiercely runs closer and closer towards the not so fierce enemy soldiers.

Seeing the battle ensue, Yirimehu continues flinging arrows into the air. The sound of a body dropping beside him draws his attention from the skies. He begins a more surgical approach to his attack.

As Yeshua charges he skewers an enemy soldier on his blade, the soldier begins laughing maniacally as the blade sinks to the hilt. Pulling a dagger from his side, the soldier manages to gash Yeshuas left eye, maiming him in the process. Yeshua winces in pain and his sword grinds out from between the enemies ribs.

Jake ferociously charges to meet a yet even more ferocious opponent, one who wields a single long-sword. They begin exchanging blows, though it is clear that Jake is not the one controlling the fight. Soon enough Jake makes a critical mistake, attempting to disarm the bladesman. The soldier easily counters the weak attempt and cleaves Jake's right arm off. Almost passing out due to the pain, Jake falls to his knees, awaiting the final blow.

Yirimehu seeing the predicament of his comrade Jake, quickly fires three arrows into the soldier who then falls to the ground. Though before Yirimehu can celebrate his first kill of the day, and even greater threat looms ever nearer. A berserker, and a follower of wrath at that, is a true challenge for any soldier and especially so for an archer. The great beast of a man wielding a greataxe charges through the line of lancers and pikeman, being speared along the way. He arrives at the archers, smashing away at them, he easily destroys most of the archery unit. As Yirimehu attempting to block an overhead swing barely makes it out alive, though not with his bow intact. Now facing each other, one of the few archers remaining of his ship against a huge man with a greataxe.

Seeing Jake fall out of the corner of his one good eye, Yeshua strongly bashes his opponent with his shield and rushes to Jake's side, reaching a hand out to help him up.  He keeps his shield raised, wary of another attack.

Switching swords so that Jake's jagged sword is in his arm that is still there, Jake takes Yeshua's hand and springs to his feet. With what little strength Jake has left, he runs behind Yirimehu's adversary as quietly as possible and fiercely attempts to thrust his blade into the berserker's back, with the intent of killing the berserker with one swift blow.

As the beast lunges towards Yirimehu, his great ax glowing in the sun's light, inches from the warrior's face, only held back by Yirimehu's armor, sparks fly as it scrapes and slides forward. As the beast becomes within earshot, Yirimehu whispers, "You may best me here beast, and though you might take my life, you will never take my pride." Then, through the bloody spit of a roar, Yirimehu proclaims, "THROUGH THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES WE'LL CARRY ON!"

As if they came from the shadows, Yeshua has been surrounded by a three soldiers, each of these wielding a sword and shield.

With his arm gone and his blood soon to be as well, Jake manages to penetrate the berserkers armor. Though not as much penetration as he would have liked. The beast swirls around, removing the sword from Jake's hand. He swells up quickly and lets out an inhuman roar. Terrifying most of the soldiers in the immediate vicinity including Jake.

Yirimehu surprised at the bravery of his comrade, regains his footing and finds a replacement for his bow among his fallen friends.

The berserker raises his axe above his head, determined to end the life if the soldier in front of him. Though as he brings the great slab of metal down Jake senses the end of his life, however Jake is not met with the embrace of death just yet. Amid a shower of sparks, Jake sees his commander standing in front of him. "MOVE!" the man shouts. This spurs Jake out of his terror, and he manages to move out of the way before the commander brings his sword along with the berserker's axe to the ground. The commander continues to fight the berserker, though it is unclear who will win this battle.

As Yirimehu watches the battle of his commander and the berserker who almost killed him, he feels as if a legend is being born right in front of his eyes.

Looking around himself in anxiety, Yeshua wonders how he is going to escape this predicament. He takes a defensive posture, aiming to block with his shield and deflect with his sword, defending himself as long as he can and countering at an opportune moment.

Adrenaline beginning to lose its effect, Jake starts to feel the pain of his arm, or rather, the lack of one. Jake rips off part of his clothing with the intent of making a tourniquet for his arm being gone. Stepping back, Jake watches in awe and amazement as his commander fiercely takes on this mighty foe, thinking to himself, "That'll be me one day.. That'll be me."

Yirimehu jumps over a pile of bodies, sliding beside an archer, whose final breath of strength is used to thrust his quiver into the air. Yirimehu's bow in hand pierces the space between the strap and the quiver like an arrow through a bulls-eye. Still in mid stride, he starts to unload his arrows in a furious panic. Three arrows fly towards Yeshua's assailants as Yirimehu turns in the mud and blood, slamming against a body. Now facing his commander, he lets off two arrows towards the berserker before realizing, by grasping at air, that his ammunition was depleted.

Fortunately for Yeshua, his opponents seem to not be at the same level as himself. He easily blocks their attempts to strike him, however due to his injury he is unable to effectively attack either.

In his panic, Yirimehu is only able to accurately land one of his three shots at the enemies surrounding Yeshua. Urgent as his motions are, he is able to shoot an arrow into one of the berserker's biceps, crippling his axe-wielding skill.

The Commander seems to be having the upper hand in the battle, though with his endurance waning, the berserker is able to swing his axe as he pleases with no sign of weakness. That is until Yirimehu's arrow pierces his arm. The berserker howls with rage and charges through the commander, knocking him onto the ground, and continues to the man who wounded him. The berserker unleashes a brutal kick straight to Yirimehu's chest, sending him flying backwards and breaking a few ribs, though without his armor he would likely not have survived. The berserker turns to face the commander, acknowledging his strength. The battle between the two continues.

Knowing he can't keep up his blocking for eternity, Yeshua attempts to charge down the wounded opponent with his shield and flee back to his comrades.  Hopefully they will be able to assist and relieve the situation.

Knowing that standing around does nothing good for his comrades, Jake begins to move toward the berserker in an offensive posture, hoping to get another fierce hit on the berserker's axe-wielding arm and render him defenseless.

Bright light surrounds Yirimehu... fading into a detached cornea, Yirimehu coughs sending coagulated clots of blood into the thick air... holding his ribs, he tries to capture his breath, only to be held back by the piercing pain of the bone jabbing into his lung. In a long stride, he gathers the war-torn bow, and in a jagged jog, he heads toward his commander.
